Doubling the duty of pieces you travel with

You know over the years I have considered getting my ears pierced.

I don't normally travel with jewellery as I find I end up losing pieces or pieces walk from my hotel rooms.

But having pierced ears means that I would always have something handy to secure my blouse when buttons go missing.

So perhaps I should reconsider it - really the only reason that I never got them pierced was when I asked at the tender age of 10 if this was possible my grandfather Johnny offered to do so - with a needle, an ice cube and a potato. I decided to pass.
