Hours, days and months tick by and the years of travel pile up. I am a rather seasoned RoadWarriorChick these days.

Stumbled into a great eco lodge
Highly recommended by me - I had picked up a simple brochure in San Jose for Ojo Del Mar www.ojodelmar.com which is on the Peninsula de Osa, in a small village called Cabo Matapalo (more like a dirt road but there is a restaurant-bar next door. We took a very dusty bumpy taxi ride for 16 km south of Puerto Jimenez. The taxi was actually a truck were we climbed into the back and had a grand rolling ride to Ojo Del Mar spilling a few Imperials along the way.
Before we knew it we were pulling into a calm & cool oasis - we had arrived. And oh I was so happy with the place - a huge common deck with a large outdoor kitchen to one side, a big natural wood dining table with benches, several hammocks strung out plus a couple of comfy sofas.
Niki took one look at the three of us - said she had the consellations wrong and said she had to make up another room for us. The thatched two level bunglow was just what I hope I could imagine if I had made it myself. Downstairs two single beds with mosquite netting, up a very steep narrow staircase that took you to the double bed in the "loft" that had a fabulous view to the gardens and the pacific ocean. Outside the flushing toilet and garden showers - WOW. Loved it.
We unpacked, got settled and waited for the conch shell warning that told us that dinner was served family style in the open aired common area. Yum, yum, yum. In total there was 11 or 12 of use enjoying Mark and Niki's cuisine which tonight was served up buffet style on banana leaves. Fresh salads, noddles, seafood lightly grilled. A few beers later, some good conversation and by 9 we were heading back to the bungalow for sleep.
How so very cool to sleep in the open yet protected. No windows, breezes and the jungle sounds everywhere. Howler monkeys make the most frightful noise that can send chills up if you aren't prepared but for whatever reason I had just a fabulous sleep. All kinds of other creatures stirring and moving but no idea of what they were or where they were. The email address at this time of this posting is: ojodelmar@yahoo.de
The next day I did early morning yoga on the outdoor deck from here you could see a peek of the coean. (Yoga was $10 extra) I enjoyed a lovely breakfast of yoghurts, fresh fruit and steaming hot coffee (which was included in the room price). Then at 10 AM we lucked into a ride to our next destination - not waiting for the taxi collectivo at 2 PM - how perfect! Our day could continue!
